FastMatte hues are synergistic with Gamblin mediums and traditional oil pigments. Dilution of these colors can be best achieved with a 50/50 ratio of Galkyd and Gamsol, which modulates texture without delaying dry-times or producing a glossy finish. A Gamvar Picture Varnish coat can then be used to enrich colors and yield a unified satin or glossy surface. This 24-hour drying period, matte exterior, and compatibility make FastMatte a prime selection for underpainting. Cadmium Red Light Gamblin FastMatte
FastMatte colours are compatible with Gamblin painting mediums and our traditional oil colours. For thinning FastMatte colours, we recommend a 50/50 mixture of Galkyd and Gamsol. This mixture, used in moderation, thins colours without slowing dry-times or significantly increasing gloss.
