Medium-long quill brush with black ox hair, short wooden handle and nickel-plated brass ferrule.

The black ox hair is characterised by an extreme softness and by a good release of water and colour absorbency. Thanks to its low elasticity and thin hair, it is ideal for light and streak-free layers, for shading, large backgrounds, subtle shadows and glazing.

The 251 Series features a broad, rounded head with a slightly flattened tip and medium-length fibers. Its design is perfect for shading and creating thin, broad glazes. When pressure is applied, it produces a delicate, petal-shaped stroke. This brushstroke is soft and light, and the range of sizes is limited due to its specific use.

This quill is highly praised by those in the oil painting, decorating, country landscape painting, professional gilding, and luthier industries. Its natural, short, balanced, and lightweight handle allows for precise and easily manageable strokes, making it ideal for intricate details and horizontal work. The soft line it produces is smooth and without any noticeable brush strokes.
